Join Pride72 in Celebrating Pride Month!
June is Pride Month and Pride72 is leading our Firm’s celebrations.
Pride72 is a collection of Firm employees who are LGBT and allies, committed to fostering an inclusive workplace representative of our diverse perspectives.
Pride Month is the perfect time for us to highlight the shared values of Pride72 and our Firm. With help from senior leadership, this group has been able to start laying the groundwork for networking, professional development, recruitment, and philanthropic programs.
“We want all of our employees to be comfortable being who they are at work—it’s important for the well-being of each individual, and it leads to a more productive environment,” Steve Cohen said recently. “We are proud to recruit, retain, and develop LGBT talent at Point72.”
In recognition of our LGBT colleagues and allies, Point72 will be flying the Pride flag at our Stamford campus throughout June. The rainbow flag is used as a symbol of the LGBT movement around the world and the colors reflect the diversity of the LGBT community. To show our support externally, we are changing our social media icons to Pride colors and posting on our channels.
“Pride Month is about visibility, and Pride72 embraces and embodies that idea,” said Jaimi Goodfriend, Point72’s Head of Investment Professional Development, and Chair of Pride72. “Even with the progress we’ve made as a society, being LGBT in finance can still be incredibly isolating. We’re committed to building a community where people can be open and be their best.”
Pride72 is also inviting colleagues to march at WorldPride NYC on Sunday, June 30. This year’s parade commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots—a turning point for LGBT rights and identity in America—and has the potential to be the largest Pride gathering in history.
Pride72—and Point72’s other affinity groups, the Women in Finance Network, and the Multicultural Engagement Network—are employee-led initiatives created with a vision towards professional development, business networking, and establishing an inclusive platform where voices can be heard and shared.
