Point72 offers an inclusive work environment where everyone has a voice and the opportunity to share their diverse opinions and variant views.
Our success depends on diverse viewpoints that come from the unique perspectives of people with diverse backgrounds. By fostering an environment where everyone has a voice and the opportunity to share their ideas, we can achieve our mission of offering the greatest opportunities to the brightest talent.
Led by our Office of Inclusion and Engagement, we are always looking for ways to enhance our culture and ensure inclusive recruitment, retention, and promotions practices.
Our employee-led affinity groups help to recruit, retain, and develop talent—especially among underrepresented groups—and to establish an inclusive platform where voices can be heard and shared.
Diverse opinions—variant views—are essential to our success. We can only have those different perspectives by recruiting, developing, and promoting a diverse pool of talent, including people that have been historically underrepresented in the finance industry. We won’t ever stop looking to attract and retain the best and brightest from any background.
The Point72 Academy is the major means by which we appeal to a more diverse population of aspiring investors. Since 2017, we’ve awarded more than $200,000 in scholarships to women and black, LatinX, and Native American students to help them explore their interest in finance. We launched the Future of Finance Diversity Accelerator in 2021 to train and mentor students from groups traditionally underrepresented in finance. Women and minorities now account for a larger share of our Academy programs, even as the program itself has grown.
We were the Founding Sponsor and host of BLK Capital Management’s Inaugural Stock Pitch Competition in 2018 and continue to partner with the group. BLK is a wholly black-owned and student-run hedge fund, which strives to recruit the top undergraduate talent from across the country and prepare them for a career in the financial services industry. Since our partnership began, we have sponsored five stock pitching events, providing access to our investment professionals, insight into a career in investing, and feedback and coaching on stock pitches.
In 2020, Point72 partnered with Luminary, a global, inclusive collaboration hub that aims to advance women through community and deliver impact no matter their career stage, role, or industry. Through our partnership with Luminary, all our employees have the opportunity to participate in their programming and join their community.
W@CS is an internal seminar series that fosters an open dialogue among women at the Firm to share their experiences, ask questions, and hear diverse views on issues important to them. We feature female leaders from other financial companies and from outside the industry to provide employees with the opportunity to share perspectives with our guest speakers and each other.
As an employer sponsor of the London School of Economics Women in Business society (WiB), we provide partnership, collaboration, and support for the group to champion gender equality within the corporate world and help women thrive in traditionally male-dominated industries.
We’ve teamed up with Out for Undergrad (O4U) to further celebrate, engage, and develop the LGBT+ community at Point72. Through our partnership, we hope to drive progress for LGBT+ people at our Firm, in the alternative investments space, and around the world.
The Kea-Rare Development Programme is designed to increase access to buy-side investing firms for some of the UK’s brightest women from socially disadvantaged backgrounds. Point72 sponsored the programme in 2019 and hosted 25 women in our London office for presentations and networking.
Data Science 4 All / Empowerment seeks to create a nationwide ecosystem of data-driven professionals who are from the Black, Hispanic, LGBTQ+, and other underrepresented groups. Since the start of our partnership in 2019, members of our Market Intelligence team have presented on panels, volunteered as mentors, and spoken with participants about their data science work and career goals.
Point72 has partnered with the Asian University for Women since 2018. AUW is based in Chittagong, Bangladesh and exists to educate and empower a rising network of women leaders through education. Through our ongoing partnership with the organization, we host teach-in sessions for AUW students each year and accept an AUW intern in our Hong Kong office each summer.
We’re proud to have supported these organizations to help them achieve their inspiring missions.
