How we achieve greater diversity

We know that diversity is an issue in the finance industry and among hedge funds in particular. We realized that we needed an innovative recruiting strategy – continuing to recruit from existing pools of talent would only reinforce the status quo.

Through our Point72 Future of Finance Scholarships we’re looking to make a long-lasting impact on the industry and to lay a foundation for the next generation of diverse investing talent.

Point72 Future of Finance Scholarships

This year we’re offering opportunities for undergraduate women, as well as for Black, Latinx, and Native American students to be recognized as Point72 Future of Finance Scholars.

$20,000 merit-based scholarships

We’re awarding $20,000 Point72 Future of Finance Scholarships to encourage students from groups underrepresented in finance to pursue a career in investing with us. We’re looking for students of distinction with a passion for the markets – regardless of their academic concentration – a demonstrated dedication to their communities, and the desire to make an impact at our Firm and in the industry.

Point72 partners with BLK Capital

This year we were the Founding Sponsor and host of BLK Capital Management’s Inaugural Stock Pitch Competition. BLK is a wholly black-owned and student-run hedge fund, which strives to recruit the top talent from students across participating schools and prepare them for a career in the financial services industry.

Diversity through development

Last year we became a leading sponsor of the P3 program to help our female Analysts develop the skills and networks they need to accelerate their careers in investment management. This 12-month program run by Parity Partners includes a monthly speaker, regular discussions with a small group of peers, and access to industry events.

2017 Point72 Scholarship for Women

The Academy has emerged in the past three years as the major means by which we appeal to a more diverse population of aspiring investors. Supported by the 2017 Point72 Scholarship for Women – women now account for a larger share of our Academy Full Time and Summer Programs than ever, even as the program itself has grown.

Progress starts with education

We’re proud to announce that Point72 has donated $60,000 to the Asian University for Women’s #ProgressStartswithEducation campaign. This donation will fully underwrite the cost of a four-year scholarship for one woman to attend AUW. We’ll also be offering an internship in our Hong Kong office for at least one student from AUW this summer.
